Shishir Rao

Dr. Shishir Rao is a Hindustani classical Khayal vocalist and teacher with over two decades of training under Sri Nachiketa Yakkundi, in the Kirana lineage of Pandit Basavraj Rajguru. He has also studied at Kolkata’s ITC Sangeet Research Academy and has performed internationally across the UK, USA, and India. Rooted in receptive musicianship, his concerts unfold as collaborative, imaginative dialogues - shaped in the moment with his ensemble and audience.
